Sunday 14th June Vivid (yeh we went on the last night how very organised we are, and luckily it didn’t rain) a festival of light and music (we didn’t get to see the musical aspects), and we missed Fire Water but we did see the Rocks and Circular Quay transformed by smart low light installations.
The night kicked off at Pancakes on the Rocks for a very satisfying dinner of Mexicana (potato and onion) Pancakes and a filling Short Stack dessert. We had a few minor complications like not having a map, Lalisa’s upset stomach and Annie’s noob skills with a SLR but it was a good night afterall with alot of walking, photo taking, oh’s and ah’s and much more walking.

Friday morning got ready and dressed in my Alannah Hill Can’t Hold Back Frock and yes it was 7degrees in the morning and freezing, so much that I had the worst goosebumps and my legs went blue and purple… ah the things I do to look good (sheer tights or opaques just wouldn’t look right with the gown) We parked in a 1P spot near uni (though we stayed for 4hrs) so I could get fitted for my robes and take professional family portraits… (with Bill in them too so now he has to marry me or my sister) Then I cam whored my way around uni, taking so many luvo shots and some photos for relatives overseas. At 1130 we proceeded to The Great Hall where I graduated in a drop dead gorgeous gown and trencher XP in an hour long ceremony, all for a snazzy red folder. We also had to walk correctly and "salute" the Chancellor and acting Dean by either curtseying, bowing or tipping our hats. It was all very exciting, especially seeing everyone and taking happy snaps XDD highly enjoyable experience ANND I was even on tv muahaha but it mainly focuses on my friend John mpegmedia.abc.net.au/lateline/video/podcast/r386287_1803273.m4v (It’s right at the end if you’re bothered to watch it at around 4min40secs)

After all that we lunched at Bite Me Burger for a hooge satisfying meal with fries and a "brr" coke. I had the Mini Oh My Dog! and Mini Bloody Mary Burger with fries and a side order of onion rings to share which was crisp and piping hot on the inside.

Dinner with the besties was at Suminoya a Japanese all you can eat buffet which was pretty good, we ordered a shitload of juicy prawns, garlic prawns, sashimi (salmon, kingfish, tuna which we suprisingly fresh), scallops, octopus, squid, beef rib finger, beef fillet, beef tongue, pork rib, chicken giblet… and so much more meat because we’re carnivorous like that. Overall all the meat were fresh and tender and were marinated nicely and the prawns were pretty plump and the sashimi was fresh… Special mention goes to the thin and flavourful beef tongue because it tasted oh-so-good (and oily) and the beef rib finger which was marinated in this beautiful sauce and had just enough fat to make it the tastiest cut of meat there. Other foods we ordered were yukke, edamame and a variety of seafood and seaweed salads. For dessert I ordered one of everything so I tasted the Coffee Jelly which had a good coffee taste and the jelly was purin purin and their homemade green tea ice cream which was deliciouss and creamy but my favourite dessert would have to be the lemon sorbet which was the perfect pallette cleanser after eating so much meat… and allowed me to enjoy the full flavours of the green tea ice cream with cornflakes and azuki. It was fun, but the place does get very very smoky, I don’t think their air vents work as well as they should as they didn’t suck the smoke away very effectively.
the only foodie shots because I was busy eating

I love lazy Sundays especially if there’s good morning sunshineee. We were blessed last weekend AND this long weekend hooray! so we spent our mornings at our favourite new cafe in Pyrmont, the H2O Cafe (it’s next to Sugaroom and is where Milk & Two used to be). I lovelovelove this place, it overlooks the harbour and the place is enormous and lofty with heaps of seating indoors and outdoors (though on weekends you’d better book since it does get very busy). The waterfront view is amazing with the sunshine and so much better now that they finished constructing the bike tracks, gardens and children’s playground.
I absolutely love having a good breakfast and they have a simple and tasty and wholesome breakfast menu served all day!!! I usually have the Breakfast Bruschetta but mum had that this time, it’s so delicious with poached eggs, roasted tomatoes and parmesan on sourdough with basil oil… it’s full of flavour without being too heavy in the morning… perfection. This time I opted for the Big Breakfast which is really really big inclduing two eggs any style (I always get poached), sauteed mushrooms, three gourmet sausages, homemade baked beans, roasted tomatoes and bacon served on sourdough bread… gosh I’m such a pig but it was soooo good. It’s great that they serve gourmet sausages that are oh-so-tasty (i usually only eat chicken sausages) and the bacon was just the way I like it, not the crap bacon which is just all fat, the beans were pretty good too, a tad tomatoe-y for me and the mushrooms, oh gawd I loved the mushrooms.
Next time… maybe when it’s more warmer and I need something less hearty… I’m determined to try their Breakfast Summer Trifle which has homemade muesli with granola and fresh berries and yoghurt. Doesn’t it sound tres delish?
creamy and strong Cappuccino with loads of chocolate topping =)))
Breakfast Bruschetta absolutely divinee
Recently ate the Maid in Tokyo Maid Cookies from Japan, luckily they were packaged individually so they didn’t go stale. They had two flavours, Milk and Maple and they were soo yummy, crisp and sweet and so addictive. Each cookie had one of eight faces with expressions – too cute!! Trust me to get the “pun-pun” (pissed off) cookie face first, and the second cookie I had was the “mogu-mogu” (stuffing your face) cookie… after that I think I ate a few more… probably more than any other family member… I also ate the last two since no-one had the nerve to eat them =)

I’ve been bad… but Angie’s been bad too since we both broke our shopping bans in spectacular fashion as soon as we hit the sales… we even tried not to shop altogether but ended up checking out the stocktake sales a few days later. Angie also bought shoes and a few items from PA and cosmetics!

We were also bad in the fact that we indulged in a Chocolate Avalanche after a dinner of full rack of ribs at Tony Roma’s. We didn’t know what it was initially, we just ordered it because all the other tables had one too… turned out to be a delicious and moist chocolate cake with ice cream and chocolate cookie topping and chocolate sauce YUM!!
